Traditional Medical Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine needles into the body at very specific points shown to be effective in the treatment of specific health problems. These points have been mapped by the Chinese over a period of two thousand years. Recently, electromagnetic research has confirmed their locations.

Traditional MedicalModern Western medicine has not yet been able to explain how acupuncture works. Traditional acupuncture is based on the theories of the flow of Qi (Energy) and Xue (Blood) through distinct meridians or pathways throughout the body. These pathways correspond to the nerves and blood vessels. Acupuncture allows Qi to flow to the area where it is "Deficient" and away from where it is in "Excess". Because of this, acupuncture regulates and restores the harmonious energetic balance of the body.
